How to set up OutreachDex and use it day to day. Every guide is also in the GitHub repository.
Getting started
- Get started with OutreachDexCreate a workspace, add or import contacts, connect your mailbox and set up Claude Code or Codex, then work through your first review-and-send cycle.
- Import contacts from CSV or a spreadsheetImport contacts from a CSV or TSV file or the command line: how columns map to fields, how duplicates are matched by email and name, and which become channels.
- Set up a workspace and globalcontact.tomlWhat's inside an OutreachDex workspace folder, and how to configure stages, fields and the daily sending limit in globalcontact.toml.
Everyday work
- See who needs you next on TodayToday lists who is awaiting your reply, drafts to review, follow-ups due and decisions to make, and explains how follow-up reminders and keep-in-touch work.
- Manage people, profiles and duplicate contactsUse the People table and the person page: views, bulk actions, CSV export, custom profile fields, merging duplicate contacts and logging notes or feedback.
- Understand a person with the AgentAsk Claude Code or Codex to research a person, see evidence and open questions, keep Agent memory over time, and write playbooks for your own analysis goals.
- Review, approve and send draftsEdit and approve drafts, compare with the AI original, teach your writing preferences, check recipients, and send email or mark other channels as sent.
- Build lists for cold outreachFilter contacts and data source users by attributes and events, let the Agent prepare one draft per person, review them one by one, and respect daily limits.
Connections
- Connect a mailbox over IMAP and SMTPAdd IMAP and SMTP accounts with app passwords, file incoming mail under contacts, detect bounces, unsubscribes and auto-replies, and judge reply intent.
- Connect your backend as a data sourceConnect a product backend through the read-only GCSP/1 protocol, run the endpoint check, match synced people to contacts and track how their attributes change.
- Work with the Agent: Claude Code or CodexHow the Agent pane runs your own Claude Code or Codex: sessions, quick tasks, shared context, progress reports, permissions and the MCP tools it can call.
Reference
- Privacy and security: where your data livesOutreachDex keeps data in your own workspace folder with no cloud or telemetry, encrypts passwords and tokens locally, and never sends anything without approval.
- Troubleshooting OutreachDexFixes for common problems: the Agent can't start, a mailbox or source check fails, people waiting under To confirm, uncertain send results and refused sends.
- Keyboard shortcutsKeyboard shortcuts for OutreachDex on macOS: global search, showing the Agent, saving, moving through the People list and switching person page tabs.
